During the 2021-2022 school year, the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) will administer the PSAT/NMSQT to all 10th grade students and the PSAT 8/9 to all 8th grade students, with parental consent.   
 
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) will pay for all 10th?grade students in the state of Georgia to take the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Parents and students may prepare for this assessment by visiting the link:  https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/official-student-guide-psat-nmsqt.pdf.  This link provides important test details, familiarizes students with question types, and information on the National Merit Scholarship Program.   
 
The DeKalb County School District will pay for all 8th?grade students to take the?PSAT 8/9.  Every middle school will take the PSAT 8/9 on Thursday, October 14, 2021.  More information regarding the PSAT 8/9 can be found by visiting the following link:  https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/psat-8-9-benefits-flyer-students.pdf.  This link provides details relative to the benefits of participating in this assessment as well as how the assessment is scored.
