Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
The Georgia Board of Education requires all students who are enrolled for credit in any of the courses listed below to take the Georgia End of Course (EOC) upon course completion. The following four courses in Georgia have EOCs:
- American Literature
- Biology
- U.S. History
- Coordinate Algebra /Algebra 1
According to The Georgia Board of Education, the End-of-Course serves as the final exam for these courses listed above. The Board established a grade of 70 as the “passing score” for the End-of-Course Test and for all courses. For a student to receive credit for an End-of-Course, the average of the coursework and the EOC score must equal or exceed 70. (See Georgia SBOE rule 160-4-2-.13.)
We will administer the EOC for the current semester as indicated below:
2023 Spring Georgia Milestones: End of Course (EOC) One-DAY Schedule |
Wednesday, April 19, 2023 | American Literature Part I |
Thursday, April 20, 2023 | American Literature Parts II & III |
Friday, April 21, 2023 | Biology Parts I & II |
Monday, April 24, 2023 | Make-Up Day |
Tuesday, April 25, 2023 | Coordinate Algebra |
Wednesday, April 26, 2023 | US History Parts I & II |
Thursday, April 27, 2023 | Make-Up Day |
It is the expectation that every student enrolled in the 4 courses identified above take the End-of-Course (EOC). Students who fail to take the End-of-Course (as required) during this testing window, must do so by the end of the next subsequent grading period.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Reeves,
Testing Coordinator
